Over spring break, we took a trip to Nauvoo, IL. We had a great time. The kids loved it! It was nice to get away and have some family time. The temple is beautiful and there were so many things to do and see in the old town. We left Nauvoo with a greater appreciation for our ancestors and the saints that lived at that time.
This is what it looks like when we try to get a picture with all of the boys together.
Spencer and Owen skipping rocks on the Mississippi River.
The Smith Family grave site where Joseph Smith is buried.
Joseph and Emma Smith's home.
The printing shop
Owen loved to run up to the sister missionaries and give them a hug and a kiss on the hand. They must remind him of his grandmas.
The blacksmith's shop where we each got a 'prairie diamond', a ring made from a nail. Connor also got a mini horseshoe.
One of our favorite things was the oxen ride.
One ox butted Jade in the back right after this picture was taken.
We took a wagon ride tour through Nauvoo and along the Mississippi River. We were bundled up with hats, coats, and blankets and it was still freezing with the wind blowing. I don't think we would have made very good pioneers.
The boys had fun making their own rope. They learned how many other things were made like bread, candles, rugs, bricks, guns, newspapers, barrels, horseshoes, etc.
